GoMedia Canada 2008 — the place where stories are born.

Save the date! (July 3-6, 2008)

Once upon a time, there was a place called Canada. Our Canada. Not a cold lonely land of vast landscapes, but one filled with colour and sounds and scents and scenes of a lifetime. Canada is about stories. Your story, my story, the amazing, never-thought-it'd-happen-to-me stories.

Think...

…dancing ‘til dawn in the cobblestone streets with revellers celebrating Quebec City's 400th birthday.

...harvesting frozen ice wine grapes with a vintner at midnight after the first frost on Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula.

...the thrill of an elk bugling safari in the foothills of the Alberta Rockies.

We've got 9,984,670 sq km and 32,623,490 stories, give or take a few. Let's get the word out today!

Join us, the Canadian Tourism Commission at our 2008 GoMedia Canada Marketplace. This is our not-to-be-missed yearly event where Canadian travel organizations get their chance to tell media one on one about Canada. Media take away the best new Canadian travel stories. Everyone leaves with a great time under their belt and a journal filled with new contacts. Plus, who wouldn't love to spend a few days in stylish, historic Québec City, the cradle of French culture in Canada?

It’s time to register for GoMedia Canada Marketplace (GMCM)!

Inside GMCM

This not-to-be-missed international media event begins July 3, 2008 with registration and a welcome gathering. The next day, media depart on special tours and tourism organizations begin marketplace set-up.

Day One closes with a sumptuous opening gala evening spotlighting local French culture hosted by Québec City, which celebrates its 400th birthday in 2008. Saturday, July 5 highlights the show’s core program, the marketplace. In a fast-paced, speed-dating format, media uncover Canadian story ideas in interactive appointment sessions. On July 6, media depart on action-packed, multi-day tours to exciting locations across Canada.

Contacts Directory
A great benefit of GMCM is you’ll take away lots — story ideas, unforgettable experiences, goodies, a stack of business cards, new friendships. One of the biggest perks is the GMC Marketplace 2008 directory, your handy reference for the next year. It’s got profiles of all Marketplace media and tourism organizations.* If you agree, we will also publish all media bios on the CTC’s online Media Centre at www.canada.travel/mediacentre.

*The info you provide on your registration form is what we’ll print in the contacts directory (print and online versions), so please take time to ensure accuracy.
